Early Childhood

Toddler Program

18 months through two years

Mon. – Fri., 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m, part time available

The toddler programs at Pilgrim School are much more than child care services. HighReach Learning Curriculums, developed expressly for children from infancy through fourth year are utilized in the social, emotional, educational and physical development of your toddler. When seeking toddler school placement well beyond ordinary childcare and day care, call Pilgrim Lutheran School. Your child can be enrolled upon reaching 18 months, at any time during the school year.

Preschool

Preschool at Pilgrim helps your child become more independent in an age-appropriate way. Games, toys, manipulatives and lots of love and discipline are used to ready your child for this stage in life. The children also cook, check books from the library, have Show & Tell, and attend chapel once a week. Areas covered in Preschool are:

  • Science, Social Studies, Art, Music
  • Pre-Math, Pre-Reading, Computer
  • Daily Religion (Jesus Time)
  • Small and Large Muscle Development
  • 15:1 Student to Teacher Ratio
  • Problem Solving
  • Color and Shape Recognition
  • Phonological Awareness: Songs, Rhymes, Fingerplays

 

Prekindergarten

4 Years Old by September 1st

Mon. – Fri., 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

During the Prekindergarten year, the children are preparing to meet with success in Kindergarten. Trained teachers write the curriculum to correlate with the theme of the unit. Individual needs of children are met through work jobs, centers, games, toys, manipulatives, and learning through play. The children also cook, check books from the library, have Show & Tell, and attend chapel once a week. The areas covered are:

  • Science, Social Studies, Art, Music
  • Pre-Math, Pre-Reading, Computer
  • Daily Religion (Jesus Time)
  • Small and Large Muscle Development
  • Pre-writing
  • 18:1 Student to Teacher Ratio
  • Problem Solving
  • Color and Shape Recognition
  • Phonological Awareness: Songs, Rhymes, Fingerplays
  • Listen & Do

 

Kindergarten

5 Years Old by September 1st

Mon. – Fri., 8:00 a.m. until 3:20 p.m.

Kindergarten at Pilgrim School is the traditional precursor to your child's elementary school education. Before and after childcare is available for working parents.
